Provide competition, Zamtel told

LUSAKA – The Consumer Unity, Trust Society (CUTS) has called on the new Zamtel management to ensure that the company provides formidable competition in the mobile telecommunication market.

Applauding Government move to reverse the sale of Zamtel, CUTS International, Lusaka, Chairman Love Mtesa said telecommunications, and mobile in particular, is an important and sensitive sector in the development of any country and cannot be given away from one government to another government as was the case with Zamtel.

“We Commend the government for correcting the mistake that was made by the previous government. As CUTS International we are on record as having expressed our concern over the manner in which Zamtel was sold,” he said.
