CUTS
Geneva Resource Centre, a research, advocacy and
networking non-governmental organization on
trade and development and related issues,
regularly seeks interns to work out of its
office at 37-39 Rue de Vermont (6th floor),
Geneva. CUTS GRC aims to contribute to the
achievement of development and poverty reduction
through trade and related policies by a)
creating a better understanding of development
concerns in trade and related policies; b)
enabling participation in trade and related
policy making, particularly in Geneva and with a
special attention to those presently excluded
(e.g., NGOs, developing country participants,
other key actors including civil society); c)
stimulating interest of NGOs and other key
actors in trade, development and poverty
reduction; and d) bridging the gap in
information and communication between the NGOs
and trade and related policy communities.

The
ideal candidates should be postgraduate students
in Political Science, Economics, International
Relations or related fields, with strong
academic background from an institute of good
repute. They should be highly motivated, and
willing to learn and contribute.
Key responsibilities:

Research and writing assistance and inputs on
issues related to ongoing projects;

Research and analytical assistance in relation
to other activities of CUTS GRC;
-
Assistance in the organization of events,
meetings and other networking and advocacy
activities;

Participation in and reporting on various
meetings; and
-
Assistance in cataloguing & maintaining
database & other documentation, and related
administrative tasks.
Proficiency in both written and spoken English
with good communication skills is essential.
Knowledge of French will be an asset. The
applicants should have legal residency in
Switzerland.
Compensation
These
are unpaid internships. However, lunch and
travel allowance may be provided on a
case-by-case basis. More importantly the work
offers great job satisfaction in a highly
motivating environment.
Duration
There
is no fixed maximum duration and the intake of
interns at a particular time depends on the work
programme of CUTS GRC. The selected interns will
be expected to work for a minimum period of
eight weeks. Flexibility in working hours is
possible.
