CUTS Centre for
Competition, Investment & Economic Regulation (CUTS-CCIER) is
conducting a two-year research project entitled ‘Investment for
Development (IFD)’. This project, launched in September 2001, is being
conducted in collaboration with UNCTAD and is supported by the Department
for International Development (DFID) of the United Kingdom. The project
envisages increasing awareness and capacity building on investment regimes
and international investment issues in selected developing and transition
economies. Seven countries-Bangladesh, Brazil, Hungary, India, South
Africa, Tanzania and Zambia- have been selected for the purpose of this
study. Since
the project is nearing completion, this is the last quarterly progress
report of the Investment for Development project. The detailed final
report, however, will be submitted after the final meeting of the project
in January 2004. Reports Merged
